Brake disks for railroad technology
We manufacture brake discs in small, medium and large series for railroad technology.
The brake discs have to withstand high loads and bring trains safely to a halt.
We support our customers in the development of brake discs in order to implement a safe solution for every application.
Depending on the region of application and the technical field of application, we develop gray cast iron brake discs for railroad technology that meet the required safety standards.
We also produce brake discs for applications in the low temperature range down to -50°C.
WESO brake discs are available as wheel brake discs and shaft brake discs.
These are either split or unsplit and are manufactured in our automated process using our HWS forming system.
Thanks to our flat molding box with a height of only 400 mm, we can produce the brake discs cost-efficiently for our customers.
Compressor housing for air conditioning in railroad technology
Our range also includes compressor housings for the air conditioning of trains.
The housing and other compressor components such as the slide and cover made of gray cast iron form a perfectly coordinated unit.
These are designed individually with our customers for air conditioning in railroad technology.

We manufacture these for spare parts requirements in individual production as well as in medium and large series.

We have the manufacturer-related product qualification of Deutsche Bahn (HPQ) and we are certified according to the IRIS standard.
We also have all the usual industry certifications.

We have been EMAS-certified since 2000, we are a member of the Environmental Alliance of Hesse and we consistently implement our environmental and energy management.
Development - product implementation - further development
The implementation of the high quality requirements for safety components in railroad technology begins as early as the product development stage through the use of state-of-the-art design software and simulation software.
Risks are assessed in the feasibility analysis as early as the inquiry stage.
After commissioning, the product risks are permanently recorded, optimized and thus effectively safeguarded during product development using methods such as FMEAs or Ishikawa diagrams.
The final step in successful product implementation is the initial sample test report, in which the implementation of the customer’s quality requirements in the product is documented.
Throughout the product realization process, we work closely with our customers to ensure fast and effective product implementation.
The further development of the product is continued after the start of production using our optimization approaches from the WESO production system.
Through the consistent use of lean management and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), we simultaneously ensure the efficiency, throughput time and effectiveness of the production processes.
